Mystic, CT

  • Via Emilia

Fresh pasta, incredible Italian food, and known for their espresso martinis; this is our go-to spot for everything from rainy Monday dinner to New Year’s Eve.

  • Mystic Seaport Museum

Always something interesting to see or learn about, there are often seasonal events as well. Also home of the Charles W. Morgan, the only existing wooden whaleship.

  • Mystic Aquarium

Near Mystic Village shopping center, we’ve been going here for years and always enjoy it.

  • Denison Homestead

Museum and nature center. We have only driven by, but Denison is my grandmother’s family name (with the same spelling) so hope to visit it in person on our next trip.

  • Pop Over Eatery

Perfect for breakfast or lunch, fantastic lattes, and delicious popovers!

  • Engine Room

One of our very favorite places in Mystic; their smashburgers are the best and they have a wonderful selection of beers and cocktails.

  • Deviant Donuts

Truly decadent with rotating weekly themes of flavors. Coffee and lattes are good too!

  • Olde Mistick Village

Open air shopping, restaurants, and cafes. Super close to Mystic Aquarium!

  • Sift Bakeshop

Adam Young’s flagship Mystic location. The bakery is gorgeous and they also have a rooftop restaurant.

  • Mystic River Chocolate

The hot chocolate here is as close to Paris as I’ve found in the US. In addition to selling their handcrafted chocolate bars and chocolates, they now also have their own craft beer.

  • Oyster Club

Good seafood, great vibe, and beautiful place overall.

  • Captain Daniel Packer Inne

Nothing beats sitting by the fire and enjoying a martini and fries at DPI. Plain food and fun atmosphere in a historic setting.

  • Mystic Sweets and Ice Cream

Right off the Bascule bridge, this is our go-to for ice cream any time.

  • Mystic Museum of Art

We haven’t been to this as we’re usually visiting with friends and family, but it’s well-reviewed and worth a visit!

  • toast & tonic

New restaurant in Olde Mistick Village, we haven’t tried yet but on our list for this upcoming visit. Serving early breakfast, lunch, and cocktails.

  • Mix

Adam Young’s rooftop bar and restaurant above Sift Bakeshop. Wonderful views and good food.

  • Mystic Pizza

From the movie! Nothing mind-blowing, but good pizza when you just want something easy.

  • Mystic River Bascule Bridge

Quintessentially Mystic, the Bascule Bridge is iconic.

  • Mystic Cruises

We haven’t done any of the cruises, but looks like fun!

  • Spencer & Lynn

One of the most beautiful package stores we’ve ever been in. If you are looking for something unique in liquor or wine, this is the place.

  • McQuade's Marketplace

    Our favorite grocery store.
